In today’s video, we’re over at RJ’s Custom Cycles getting hands-on with a very limited-release Vertical Cycles 39mm Billet Triple Tree install on our 2001/2002 Sportster chopper—and these things are absolutely killer.
Huge shoutout to Russ at RJ’s Custom Cycles for letting us use the shop space and helping make this install happen, and thanks to Big Ty for jumping in and lending a hand. Always good times wrenching with the crew and building sick bikes!
We got the ½-inch drop version in raw finish, and the quality, fitment, and overall change are next level. These Vertical Cycles triple trees feature:
• 39mm fork compatibility
• ½-inch drop (also available in 2-inch drop)
• Additional 5 degrees of steering angle
• Designed for choppers, stunt riding, and custom 39mm setups
That added steering angle gives the bike an aggressive stance—especially paired with our 6-over Lowbrow Customs forks and our 3up Gasbox Frame. The frontend sits just right and really brings the whole Sporty chopper together.
Everything needed for the install was included in the kit:
• Billet triple trees
• Neck stem
• Neck bearings
• Neck stem tightening tool
• All required hardware
The install process was straightforward and well thought out, which speaks volumes about Vertical Cycles’ attention to detail. If you’re building a Sportster chopper, running a 39mm frontend, or looking to upgrade your custom Harley’s stance and geometry, these triple trees are a serious upgrade in both fuction and style.
