Day 2 of our Lolo pass chopper motorcycle camping trip starts with us packing up after a questionable campground night in Salmon, Idaho and hoping all the bikes are ready for another day on the road.
Bobby managed to get his bike fired back up after some late night adjustments on his Shovelhead. What followed was another incredible day of riding Harley-Davidson choppers through some of the best motorcycle roads in Idaho and Montana. Mountain passes, endless curves, forests, blue-green rivers and some absolutely unreal scenery made for one hell of a day on two wheels.
Of course, it wouldn't be a chopper road trip without some roadside wrenching!
Bobby's bike had us stopping for fouled spark plugs, another quart of oil and even some head bolt tightening before finally making it into Lolo, Montana. At that point, Bobby had fought the good fight and made the call to grab a U-Haul.
The rest of us kept the choppers moving toward Troy, Montana. Riding through miles of mountains, forests, rivers and winding highways before finally making it into town, only to discovered there wasn't a campsite available anywhere!
Luckily, an awesome camp host let us set up in his parking area for the night. We got camp setup and finally got some much-needed river drunks and rest for the night.
Just another day of motorcycle camping on harley choppers where nothing goes exactly according to plan—and somehow that's what makes these trips so damn good.
